Food allowance for Au Pair?

Postby mummytimestwo » Mon Jun 25, 2012 8:51 am

Hi all
I just wanted to get some opinions on whether if we offered our au pair cash to purchase her own food instead of having to eat what we're eating or ask us to buy her specific foods, how much would be a reasonable weekly amount?

We used to just buy what she wanted and/or asked for. If she wanted something in particular and bought it, I'd ask for a receipt and reimburse her.

Then again, she used to do a lot of the shopping herself so she'd buy what she wanted anyway.

We give her an extra £30 a week to cover all her food (not loo roll, washing powder etc) but all the food she eats. I just gave it to her with her weekly money. hope that helps!
