New programme - Capital - about Nappy Valley

Postby GardenRosie » Sat Nov 28, 2015 10:07 pm

Hi all

We just watched the first episode of this new drama on BBC one, thought everyone would like to see it! Set in a street in Nappy Valley and about the lives of its residents

Loved it. The bonus-obsessed banker and stay-at-home-with-nanny Mum were so spot on...

Anyway, back to my basement conversion plans...

It was fun watching it all take place on Streathbourne Rd and the common, but I did the characters were a bit one-dimensional.

Still fun to watch streets I plod daily being on the tele though :D .
Agreed!

I loved seeing all the streets but I keep getting confused as I KNOW there aren't any double fronted houses on the "Pepys Road" so whenever they cut away I keep wondering where they are. Also I find the wealthy mum really really irritating, I know there are lots of people around here who think like her but I don't believe any of them are not self-aware enough to actually say it.

Then again...

:-)

I must say I'd love if they portrayed bankers and their husbands and wives as nice people occasionally. Wishful thinking I suppose.

However, I must say I know very few moms who'd b*gger off over Christmas for a few days and just leave their children. A bit unrealistic imo.

The corner shop is the one that's closed on Mayford Road- I saw them filming there in the summer.

The shop is that one Mayford Road, the street is Gosberton Road, and the heaver house is on Elmbourne Road in front of Tooting Common. I saw them filming in summer. The park is Tooting Common, too.
