Where are the grammar schools?

Postby KEMS » Wed Aug 29, 2018 10:34 pm

I am not familiar with the secondary school options in the area - but see people discussing grammar schools on Nappyvelleynet eg grammar school mock papers etc.

My question is: where are the grammar schools near Wandsworth or Clapham? I didn’t think there were any!!

Thank you :)

the grammars usually referred to are those in the borough of Sutton including Wallington, Wilsons and Nonsuch. Additionally there is Tiffin in Richmond, various inner London grammars, majority selective schools such as Graveny. I always add Kingsdale into the mix, its down the road from Dulwich college, its non selective and its results are level with the best grammars.
Then there are high performing religious schools such as greycoat. they have opportunities for non religious entry.

there are 163-4 in the country. none particularly close to clapham from my research.
some schools in the area seem to operate in a similar way to a grammar school but either are not formally called grammar or are fee paying.
here's the list of london grammars
