Funny what? Giggle who? Funny Bugs and Giggle Worms! That’s what we call our three and four-year-olds here at The Little Gym.
Three-year-old Funny Bugs and four-year-old Giggle Worms are in a unique and critical stage of development. They’re taking a huge leap – starting to participate in structured classes all by themselves, without their parents, and either about to – or already – embarking on their school career at a fairly unusual time.
We have an important responsibility to help our three and four-year-olds be ready and prepared for their new world, whether just back or about to start. And that means developing their bodies, brains, and their social and emotional skills so that they are balanced and strong enough to not just cope with their new school experience, but thrive and delight in it!
Read on as we explain why and how you and The Little Gym can help.
THE BALANCED CHILD
At The Little Gym, we use the latest research into child psychology, and physical and intellectual development, and we inject all of that knowledge into your children’s classes.
We know how important it is to help your child achieve balance – that means developing their body, their brain, and their social and emotional skills in unison. That’s why every class at The Little Gym incorporates three-dimensional learning to nurture the whole child:
Get Moving – Children learn through movement, and our body is really our brain’s first teacher. Help your child develop total body control, physical confidence, coordination, gross and fine motor skills, plus much more.
Brain Boost – Building a foundation of critical intellectual skills like reasoning, problem solving, concentration, focus, creative thinking and expression, and much more, helps prepare your child for life.
Life Skills – Magnificent structures can’t be built on shaky foundations. Boost life skills such as self-belief, confidence, resilience, listening skills, communication, independence, leadership, sharing, cooperation, respect, and much more to support schooling.
BUILDING INDEPENDENCE
Don’t worry if your Funny Bug isn’t quite ready to explore the gym by themselves just yet. If they still need you in the gym while they’re building their independence, that’s okay! They’re still little.
Every child is unique, and they’ll be ready when THEY are ready. You are more than welcome to sit in until they feel confident enough to go off on their own. You’ll be surprised how quickly this can happen, and before you know it, you’ll be watching from the lobby whilst enjoying a hot tea or coffee.
Once your child discovers the joys of independence, they’ll be off and eager to copy the older children. But we know three-year-olds learn best through play – that’s why our Funny Bugs and Giggle Worms classes have just the right mix of free-play and structured activities.
LEARNING THROUGH FUN
Our talented, highly-trained instructors incorporate imagination and creativity into every class. Your child isn’t just jumping in Funny Bugs, they’re reaching for the moon, running through the stars, dodging aliens, and using their Superhero powers to save the world.
Creative expression helps your children learn faster, listen better, and get more out of class – building their brains, bodies, and getting them ready for good listening at school!
VALUE EVERY CHILD
We love to get to know your children, and make sure they get lots of individual attention in class. That’s why our Funny Bugs classes have a maximum ratio of six children to every teacher, meaning our teachers get to know every single child, understand their personality, passions and needs, and encourage individual learning and FUN in a way that works for everyone.
LET’S GET KIDS MOVING AND GROWING TOGETHER!
If you’re not a member yet and would like to be part of The Little Gym Wandsworth and Fulham education revolution, give our teachers a call on 02088746567 or email wandsworth_fulham@thelittlegym.eu. We would love to learn more about your child and discuss how we can help them develop critical physical, intellectual, social, and emotional skills that will help them inside and out of the gym.
