Further up the school, Enterprise gives children the chance to create, manage and budget their own businesses. For Year 6, once the 11+ has been completed in January, the cohort has five weeks off timetable for skills-based learning.

The White House Preparatory School and Woodentops Day Nursery is a co-educational independent institution located in Clapham Park, London, catering for children aged six months to eleven years. The school operates from its own grounds in a residential area within the London Borough of Lambeth. The Woodentops Day Nursery, which is managed separately, is open for fifty weeks a year and is adjacent to the school. Children from the nursery can transition to the school’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) when they reach the appropriate age. The school is owned by three proprietors, two of whom serve as principals, overseeing the governance of both the nursery and the school.
The student body is diverse, with pupils coming from various business and professional backgrounds, primarily from the local area. The majority of students are white British, but there is a representation of other ethnic groups as well. The school has identified eight pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), all of whom receive additional support. Additionally, twenty-eight pupils have English as an additional language (EAL), but none require extra assistance. The overall ability profile of the students is above the national average, and the school effectively caters to more able or talented pupils within its lessons.

The inspectors noted that pupils exhibit exceptionally strong literacy and reading skills, demonstrating high standards in writing and verbal expression. Their achievements extend to music and creative arts, where they thrive due to the school’s emphasis on creativity.
Pupils possess a broad knowledge base in subjects such as history, geography, and science, attributed to the school’s cross-curricular approach to learning. They exhibit confidence in handling numbers and calculations, relishing challenges and collaborating effectively in problem-solving activities. While their ICT skills are developing, opportunities for integrating these skills across the curriculum are limited. The school encourages independent thought, but the provision of opportunities for pupils to demonstrate initiative in their learning is inconsistent.
The personal development of pupils is also rated as excellent. They display high levels of confidence and are unafraid to tackle difficult tasks, equipped with strategies to ensure their success. Pupils appreciate their own culture and that of others, showing sensitivity towards those less fortunate. Their moral development is strong, with a clear understanding of fairness and the importance of rules and boundaries. They take on responsibilities within the school with enthusiasm and maturity, working collaboratively with their peers.
The school is advised to enhance its ICT integration across the curriculum and to provide more consistent opportunities for pupils to exercise their initiative in learning. The quality of pupils’ academic achievements is excellent, with strong literacy and creative skills promoted across all subjects. Pupils produce high-quality writing and demonstrate the ability to transfer knowledge and skills between subjects. Their articulate and confident communication skills are evident from the EYFS, where they engage in discussions and express their ideas clearly.
Mathematics achievement is also excellent, with pupils demonstrating competence in handling numbers and solving problems. The school fosters a strong cross-curricular approach to teaching, encouraging pupils to enjoy activities that involve risk while ensuring a safe learning environment. The pupils’ scientific knowledge is developing significantly, with numerous opportunities for investigation and experimentation. The school organizes various trips and experiences that enrich the curriculum and contribute to pupils’ achievements.
Pupils’ enthusiasm for creative opportunities is evident, with music, drama, and art being strong features of the school. They take pride in their successes in these areas and actively participate in extracurricular activities.
