Lara Lashes is a little boutique, hidden away in a lovely townhouse at the top of Battersea Rise. (You’ll know you’re there when you see the pink neon flashing Lara Lashes sign in the window.) Once you’re buzzed in by a friendly beautician, you’ll find a cosy reception area and a contemporary, clean and secluded treatment space.
The salon specialises in eyelash extensions and a range of professional treatments from LVL, eyelash/eyebrow threading, tinting and waxing. They also offer a fantastic eyebrow extension service, adding depth and fullness, filling in any groups to produce a perfect shaped eyebrow. How in trend.
We were greeted by Faye Lara Kelly (owner and creator of Lara Lashes) and Sophie (receptionist) who is the most wonderful advocates of eyelash extensions. They look extremely natural and full bodied and curl seductively at the top. She tells me she’s constantly getting complimented and I’m not surprised, they’re really lovely. Faye is a regular wearer who’s about to have hers done and it was nice to see her eyelashes weren’t damaged or affected in the slightest. (I inspected very closely.)
We start chatting about the process and how semi-permanent eyelash extensions are the current must-have trend. They enhance the length and thickness of your natural lashes, while defining your face and features and they look so natural. The qualified beauticians at Lara Lashes specialise in the application of these lashes and the process involves placing over 130 individual lashes on your own natural lashes – these girls have incredible patience! The process itself takes between an hour and two and a half hours (depending on what lashes you choose), and can last between 60 and 90 days, though infills are required every 2 to 4 weeks. Prices start from £65.
