It’s the middle of August, most definitely more than mid-way through the school summer holidays, and with the weather not knowing quite what it’s doing make sure you keep checking out our calendar of events which cover all-weather options; be it rain, wind or shine (read more).

Summer holiday camps and workshops coming up

The recently opened Woodfield Project on Tooting Common is running an art camp for the whole of next week for those aged 7+. It’s entitled Into The Woods and during the camp children will be turning the world of fairy tales upside down (read more).

With everyone’s love of The Lion King currently at an all-time high, children age 4-11 can be part of their own big cat show with Little Voices’ Lion King Summer Camp running at Belleville School next week (read more).

From Africa’s Pride Lands to up into the air, Flying Fantastic is running an aerial summer camp next week for children age 7+ in Wimbledon which will culminate in a show to parents where you’ll get to see all of the children’s cool new tricks! (read more)

If Harry Potter is more your child’s thing Stars Performing Arts Clubs are running a Harry Potter camp for children age 8+ The week will finish with a performance in the Tara Theatre, complete with lighting, costumes and props! (read more)

Amanda’s Action Club and MAMAcodes are teaming up to host an interactive physical activity and coding workshop this Saturday morning, to exercise both body and minds of 3-5 year olds! (read more)

Eddie Catz Wimbledon is hosting a sand workshop next Friday morning. Great for anyone who has been inspired whilst away at the beach (read more).

Pass Tutors are running Wandsworth Test Workshops during the week after the August Bank Holiday weekend. The workshops will give children the opportunity to sit both NVR and VR tests in exam conditions. They will also go through the tests and concepts in small groups and take part in an organised sport activity (read more).

Miniversity Creative Learning Club is holding a summer camp at Chelsea Academy where children will learn about various careers through the use of ICT, such as being a movie director, architect and blogger for the day, cool! (read more)

Role models are running a creative problem-solving course also at Chelsea Academy. The week includes lots of fun activities which will encourage children to use their critical thinking to solve problems and use their creativity to come up with new ideas and designs (read more).

Yellow Bird Education has two more weeks of their popular creative writing workshop coming up. The workshop aims to develop skills and inspire a love of writing in all children (read more).

First Aid for Life is running an OFSTED approved paediatric first aid training course, if you or anyone else in your organisation needs to brush up on their essential paediatric first aid skills (read more).

End of summer highlights

free photography exhibition, Forever Young, has just opened on Carnaby Street, looking at the history of youth club culture in Westminster, from the mods and rockers of the swinging Sixties onto the punk of the 70s and beyond. Might make the little ones smile! (read more)

Opening today, catch Tales of the Turntable at the Southbank Centre by ZooNation Youth Company. During the show, you’ll follow the beat back through time, as Eric and his grandfather take a trip through musical history in this dance and music show for all the family (read more).

If an outside screening of Disney’s Moana is calling you then head to Hampton Court Palace this Saturday, for a showing of the film presented by Luna Kids Cinema (read more).

Head to the artist Turner’s Georgian house in Twickenham next Friday morning to sketch and create in the house which Turner designed and be inspired by his artworks (read more).

If your thoughts are turning to school shoes for the new school year then Ce Ce & Me will be popping up in Southfields next Wednesday with their expert shoe fitting service and lots of fantastic school shoes! (read more)

Bach to Baby will be putting on their family summer special concert in Clapham next Saturday (read more).

From into the woods on Tooting Common to Into The Wild Festival in Sussex. The festival is running over the August Bank Holiday weekend and will allow you to step out into beautiful nature, learn new skills, eat delicious food, meet new like-minded friends and embrace a new kind of festival! (read more)

Summer by the River rounds up for the summer with free screenings of Black Panther next week and Mary Poppins Returns the following week, better spit spot to catch them! (read more)
