The Balham Comedy Festival is one of the regular highlights of the south west London entertainment calendar. Known for regularly punching above its weight in terms of the talent it attracts, this year’s event will be shorter than usual due to an upcoming large-scale refurbishment of its Bedford Pub home.
What the festival lacks in quantity it more than makes up in terms of quality with sets from Al Murray, The Pub Landlord & American comic legend, TV regular, Rich Hall presenting his Hoe Down. This is a specially crafted tour de force of quick fire banter and musical sequences that has delighted fans up and down the country.
In addition, the festival will also boast Joe Pasquale, back from his theatrical triumph as Frank Spencer in ‘Some Mothers Do Have ‘Em’ leading a great line up for the Best of Banana Cabaret. The ingredients are all here for a laugh packed weekend.
As ever the festival will be compered by much loved local comedian John Moloney, whose Radio 4 show has just been renewed for its 3rd series. Other performers taking part include Tania Edwards, Paul Tonkinson, RogerMonkhouse, Carl Donnelly, Angela Barnes and Imran Yusuf amongst others.
With the event unfortunately being considerably shorter this year and with less available shows, demand will be greater for each performance. Our advice then is to book early to ensure securing tickets for your favourite act.
Tickets are available from Eventbrite here, https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/best-of-bananas-at-the-balham-comedy-festival-28418-tickets-44224665164.
We look forward to seeing you there and raising a glass to this much loved and much laughed institution.
