Welcome to your NappyValleyNet weekly “What’s On” guide!

You certainly know how to keep us on our toes over here at NVN HQ.  Never do a couple of hours pass, without another handful of fantastic events popping up in our calendar, ready for us to take a look and press the go, go, go button to spread the word to a whole lot of lovely people.   So, if it’s always like that behind the scenes, that means there’s never any shortage of happenings around this fine neighbourhood and beyond.  It’s what makes NappyValleyNet tick and our fab community quite so, well, fab really.  You can post right here (click here)Just follow the green button.

Let’s start with you this week.  High octane or chill out zone, you choose

The Train Station on Jaggard Way, tucked behind Platform 1 at, you guessed it, Wandsworth Common train station, has started a series of 30 minute spin sessions on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  Drop-in (though do book ahead) and pedal-power your way to fitness…click here for more details

Or if hip-swinging, toe-tapping Zumba is more up your street, there’s a class in Clapham on Wednesday evenings where you get to let it all out and then stick around for a drink and a chin-wag (that bit must count towards your exercise regime, too, surely?)...click here for more details

Learn the Art of Cultivating Self-practice with Restorative Yoga on Sunday where you will pick up some invaluable techniques for building in relaxation to your busy, hectic and non-stop (arrrghh) life...click here for more details

The Foofoo Funclub is running a 6-week course of evening classes in Balham to get tummies back after pregnancy, reduce that gap, strengthen that pelvic floor.  They say it’s never too late…just don’t get trampled in the stampede…click here for more details 

How about some culture with a difference?  The Normansfield Theatre in Teddington is putting on a one-man performance of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations.  From Pip to Miss Haversham and Magwitch, the author’s great-great-grandson, Gerald Dickens plays every character himself as well as giving a unique insight into his uncle’s world.  What the Dickens, I hear you say? Back to the children and from the regulars to the one-offs it’s a packed schedule, as ever…

Zumba Kids offers big fun for little feet in their new class in Balham on Monday afternoons where the time will be packed with dance fitness routines to music from around the world.  They’ll be outdoing you on the dancefloor any day now!…click here for more details

It’s the Big Fish Little Fish Family Rave at The Bedford on Sunday afternoon, which promises fun for all with craft, colouring, cake-decorating, oh, and dancing…lots of bubbles and dancing…click here for more details

Minies & Minders toddler group meets Monday to Thursday mornings on East Hill for fun and games for both the little ones and the grown-ups, and Thursdays are now the bouncy castle day.  Boing…weee…oh, that’s not for the grown-ups…shame…click here for more details

Performance Platform is taking place on Monday evening at the Church of the Holy Spirit on Narbonne Avenue, when young musicians will play in front of their peers and other locals, sometimes to practise their examination repertoires, all in aid of charity.  Great community support and spirit…click here for more details 

Tin Pan Annie continues to delight the little ones and their grown-ups in equal measure at classes dotted around the neighbourhood each week.  Go along for a fun and engaging introduction to music and all its benefits.  You’re welcome to join the merry band with a first taster session – just book in advance…click here for more details 

Wandsworth’s Kids Unlimited day nursery are now holding Baby and Toddler ‘Stay & Play’ sessions every Friday morning for those from 3 months to two and a half welcome to come along with their families.  Just call to book in advance so they know how many to expect!…click here for more details

Half term is closing in and it’s time for a rest.  Or is it?  There’s plenty of fun to be had…!

The Family Arts Festival kicks off on 16 October and runs for two weeks, with 2,000 events in 500 venues across the country.  With Michael Morpurgo as its Patron, it’s bound to be brilliant.  From art, circus and museum to music, dance and film, there’ll be something for everyone.  You CAN keep them all happy!…click here for more details 

The brilliantly named Active Little Angels will be holding another of its half term camps for 3-6 year olds in Wimbledon with sports, activities, art and nature on offer each weekday morning for two weeks…click here for more details 

HappyPotter (love the username!) runs Play with Clay and will be holding half term workshops for children aged over 6 for a complete pottery experience, both making their own designs and then painting their creations…click here for more details

And there’s more in the form of Youngstars with a half term camp for 3 to 7 year olds dotted around our neck of the woods for multi-sports, arts and crafts. Your little ones will be multi-tasking better than you!…click here for more details

Arty Party will be up to its usual fabulous arty fun every day for 5-11 year olds.  From shooting star rockets to bottles of spiders’ eggs and toadstool lanterns there will be plenty of ghoulish goings-on as Halloween looms…click here for more details
