I was issued three PCNs on subsequent days two months ago as my residents parking permit had (unknowingly) expired. I submitted a challenge for these PCNs, as I felt it was unfair to repeatedly issue them for the same contravention repeatedly. My expired permit was displayed on my windscreen at the time, implying that I was a resident in the area. The 56 days required to get a response has lapsed, with no word from the council about the outcome. My online parking account now says I have to pay the full amount for all three tickets, even though I challenged them within the 2 week period from when the PCNs were issued.
My questions are:
1. Can the council repeated issue PCNs for the same parking contravention? My car was not driven for a few days so they were left on my windscreen together.
2. Has anyone actually gotten a response from the council when challenging PCNs?
I appreciate that it was my fault for not renewing our permit on time, but interested to know if anyone has managed to reason with them for similar situations.
