That sounds a very exciting 2021 project.  We are a local interior design studio called Studio Ogee.  We responded to the original post in this thread.  

To introduce ourselves,  we are an interior design studio based between the commons, mostly working with local families who are looking to find better living solutions for their homes.  We charge hourly and by fixed fee or a combination of both to suit the client and the project.  We currently base our fees on an hourly rate of £60.  We aim for clear and transparent charging that means the client is always aware of, and in control of the budget.  Through clever sourcing we ensure our clients make savings on materials and items, so that we always deliver good value over the project as a whole.

We have a different approach than our competitors: if you entrust us with the work, we don't charge for the interior design. E.g. if your project does not require more than 2 /3 days of design we only charge for painting, plumbing, carpentry, flooring. We buy for you materials, furniture and accessories , and we offer you our professional discount and also the sourcing*.  10% handling charge and VAT still apply.If you want a high-end design with very functional materials we can design for 300 a day always on condition that you entrust us with the work.If you only want the design services and realisation from others, we usually charge 540 a day.You have your own taste and aspirations and we like to listen to you, to be inspired.by you and help you achieve your vision. Hello,  I have just sent you a private message with the Interior Designer I am using.  She's fab! 

I am thinking that our 4 bedroom terrace needs an overhaul. No construction needed but the bathrooms, master bed and living spaces need attention especially given a year (almost) of working of home. Could anyone tell me what an interior designer costs and if they charge by room or the hour? Any personal recommendations would be appreciated!
