Hi Leannegrace,

There is a playgroup at St Marks on Battersea Rise, it is held term time only on a tues/wed/ thurs mornings 10-11.30. Free play for the first hour, then snacks for the kids and coffee and cake for the mums/carers, followed by a singing time. Once a month we hold children's church instead of the songs, with songs and a little bible story. The cost is £2 per family so very affordable. The room is warm, bright and sunny, the floor is carpeted and there are sofas to relax on and the toys quite good. I also think it is very friendly but then I would say that as I am one of the helpers!!

The downside is that it is not drop it, we have a waiting list which was over a year, but now that we are running three days a week the waiting list is hopefully much shorter. You need to download a form from the st marks website www.stmarks-battersea.org.uk and send it to riseandshine@stmarks-battersea.org.uk

Hopefully see you there soon!

The Battersea Arts Centre one is called 'Chitter Chatter' and it's NCT run, so no need to book or be a member, just turn up.

We also love Rissadan, which is on Friday mornings at the Methodist Church next to Sainsburys on Clapham High St (we just walk accross the common).

There are 2 sessions, we go to the 10.45-11.30 one, and it's drop in, first session free, thereafter £6.50 a session. Run by a lovely lady called Catherine, there is a story, music/songs, bubbles, 'learning' with a puzzle of shapes or numbers or colours varying from week to week, and a little art activity too. It's great fun, and really sociable, several of us take our kids for lunch afterwards...

Hope that helps! Amanda

Do you need to be a member for the Battersea Arts Centre playgroup on Mondays or can you just turn up? I would love to go to this one with my 2 year old, we live so close by and had no idea about it!

Thank you so much!

There is a lovely playgroup on a Thursday at Church of the Ascension on Malwood Road. It's £1 per child, lots of toys, and a bit of singing at the end. I think the sessions are 9.15 til 10.45 and 10.45 til 12.15. The second session isn't as packed as the first one. I haven't met many mums there though, just lots of nannies. It's a friendly place though so I'd recommend it.

Calling all "stay @ home Mums" HELP Finding a playgroup

Hi All,

For some reason I'm finding hard to find a local playgroup for my 12month old daughter. I don't know why... I live in nappyvalley!!!

I'm the first one of my friends to have childErn and Im starting to feel the boredom of being a stay at home home (I feel awful saying that) but I know there must be mums in the same position and understand what I mean.

Another mum told me about messy play at st. Marks church on battersea rise. I've looked on the site and I can't find it?!! Does anyone know this play group?

My daughter is such a friendly little thing and I'd love to meet active mums . (feel like Im on a dating site)

I read NCT meet at crumpet and do a walk. This would be great for me but I'd like my daughter to play.

Im going to drop in @ broomwood meth church-toddler group tomo morning - but it would be nice to get some recommendations

I'd love to meet fun mums near northcote rd/battersea rise/ SW11. If you know of/ or fancy joining myself and Daisy to a playgroup. Please get in touch

All the best

Leanne

** forgot to say - I'd need morning classes
also, Im happy to help at any play groups
