Not a cottage, but our lovely holiday house is still available over Christmas and for a short break between Christmas and New Year. The house is very well equipped for young children but my own teenagers enjoy staying there as well as there is a Spa with indoor and outdoor pool, a gym, sauna, steam room. Plenty of pubs in the surrounding area for meals out and lots of walking and cycling.
The house sleeps 8 so maybe too big for 4 of you but maybe you could have friends or family join you.

Ah I see. There is a well equipped games room which older children would like I expect, with darts, etc. Have a good break wherever you decide to go.

Hi,
I have just got back from a short break at Tregrill Farm Cottages which are absolutely lovely and I think tick all the boxes that you want. We are a family of four and stayed in Moderno which has a wood burning stove so perfect for Christmas I would think. It was very child friendly with a gate for the stairs and lots of jigsaws which my daughter made it her mission to complete! I know they accept dogs staying there too and it is very very quiet in the middle of the Cornish countryside. Really really nice and I had to recommend when I saw your post!
