Thanks, LouParker, I wasn't aware of that, although having just checked the Riverford site I don't think it looks like an issue with them, but I will be more aware in future

The meat we've received from them has always been delicious.

On a personal level grass fed and free range is much more important, lots of organic beef is fed by grain so they cows aren't always out to pasture & it affects the nutritional value of the meat. But I'm sure riveford have great stuff too - I'll definitely check them out!

Riverford meat boxes are excellent. You don't have to commit to regular delivery, just order when you want it. All organic too.

Our first box arrived on Friday, beyond impressed, husband Is a real foodie and loved their sirlion steaks! Feels good to be feeding the family tasty, ethical produce and supporting Somerset farms.

Hi Petal,
Thought of joining a fish-box scheme? http://www.faircatch.co.uk has been running 8 weeks now and provides super-fresh, sustainably caught fish from day-boats on the sussex coast to members who collect from Barmouth Kitchen every Friday between 3.30 and 6.30pm (or from our flat on Geraldine road if they can't make that window). It's based on 4 or 8 week seasons with weekly or fortnightly collections, but if members happen to be away for any of their Fridays, they just contact us and we swap their dates around. We will also soon be offering fish prep workshops to help people improve their filleting skills. Check us out on FB too - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Faircatc ... 6658791516

and give us a call or drop us an email if you have any questions - guy@faircatch.co.uk

Thanks
Guy

We had a very nice guy visit. I would have signed up until Mrs C. clarified that although the meat was free range it was not organic by definition. Meat is the only thing we really push the boat out on for various reasons. However to reiterate they were very polite and informative.
