Welcome! The new American Embassy will be opening in a year or two in nearby Nine Elms so you won't be far away from a little bit of the US.

Remember to follow your local police service on Twitter and Facebook.

And personally, I'm not a Miami Dolphins fan and I never ever tweet about football!*

*Might be lying.

Best of luck with your move. I was travelling around Africa, USSR, Middle East (back in the day) and settled in London back in 1983. I am still here and my children are 'British'. London is very Americanised and there are lots of Americans but the great thing about London is the diversity. Everyone is here and that is the best thing about London. You will get used to the weather. My advice: get a hot water bottle. Best of luck,

Michele from Wisconsin

Hi - there are a lot of American families in the area. If you PM your Facebook name to me, I'll add you to an American mums group and most of them live off Northcote Road. You can post all kinds of questions on the page….
Welcome!

Hi there!

Have been here for 6 years and now have a 3 year old and one on the way! We moved from Los Angeles, but am originally from Texas.

Am happy to chat with you further about any queries you may have - feel free to pm me.

The differences are vast and take some getting used to, but we absolutely love it here and couldn't be happier - small space and all!

Moving to Area from US

We are moving to near Northcote Road in early August from California with our two kids aged 8months and 5. Since the move was confirmed I have been loving this site for info on the area but I was wondering whether there are any other fanilies from the States that can offer their experiences of moving over and how they have settled in.

TIA! x
