Hi,
We used a guy called Tony (found his number on here - it was posted some years ago but called him anyway) he built 2 x alcove units and a bespoke (we designed it) wine rack in our new extension/kitchen which we were thrilled with. He was very good, easy to communicate your ideas to, reasonable, efficient and tidy. He's coming back to build a unit in our hall for us in a couple of weeks...Tony: 07974221294

We're using Matt Hadfield for new shelving units, after seeing some cupboards he built for a friend. He's very friendly and immediately showed willing to correct a minor mistake he'd made. The shelving units look good and exactly as we wanted them - I had some fiddly requirements to accommodate and he was fine with this. The only potential negative is that he's very busy with his son's demanding cricketing schedule (!) and took a while to get us the quote and start the work on this basis - this didn't really matter to us, but if you're in a hurry he might not be your man. In all other respects, though, he's trustworthy, friendly and completes work to a good standard and as per specification. I will be offering him more work.

Tried Hamilton based on good refs here, but my advice would be to steer well clear of hum.

Very odd guy - quite aggressive and difficult to talk to. He unexpectedly cancelled our job the morning it was supposed to begin because we asked for a minor change!

Try John Lethbridge - 07866 428022.
Very good, trustworthy and efficent. All making and painting done off site so minimum disruption. Done some work for quite a few of my friends and they have all been very pleased. Have a look at his website:-

Oh I meant to say, he measured up very accurately and did most of the carpentry building off site and then just came for the day to fit and last minute adjusting so it was not too messy for too long.

Hi there,
I have recommended this guy before on here, his name's Hamilton, 07801336113, 02087710906. I originally found his number in a freebie paper but he let me go and check out another customers work before I took him on.
He did bespoke wardrobes and drawers for me to fit odd shaped walls, that was 5 years ago all still lovely. I have since have him do my children's bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and secure book shelves and a couple of bed side tables.

I'm looking for a carpenter to do some bespoke built-in cupboards for us which will also include some drawers and sliding doors. Does anyone know a good carpenter for a job like this? Thanks!
