Second vote for London House if you want somewhere posh (ie like Chez Bruce).

If you want to splash out and don't mind a bit of a schlep you could try the River Cafe in Hammersmith (quite quick using Munster Road). Not been there for a few years but it was always great - if very pricey.

The Little Taperia in Tooting serves the most delicious and unique Tapas dishes. I had a lovely night out there last week. They do great cocktails too.
Some amazing reviews for such a new eatery on the trendy tooting scene

London House or Queenswood both in Battersea Sq. Both really great and prove that you don't need to travel across the river for a lovely evening out.

The Dairy in Clapham is amazing! Creative, quirky and yummy, we absolutely LOVE it!

Hi

Can anyone recommend a lovely special local restaurant for my birthday in October? I love Chez Bruce and was going to try Trinity, but it is closed until the end of October for a refurb. Don't want to travel into town, so somewhere localish would be good.

Thanks
