Most of the charity shops won't take them but I have listed mine on the "freebies" section of Gumtree and they have always gone. Someone very grateful will probably pick them up from you. Likewise on mattresses if they are in clean condition. I've successfully got rid of mine that way to people in need. It's a good way of re-cycling a lot of things if they are in good condition - I have given away garden equipment, old TV's that still work, baby equipment, bedding, furniture that the charity shops won't take, small electrical goods like kettles and toasters that still work, etc etc.

Battersea Dogs home takes pillows and duvets. I've taken some there.
Mattresses would have to be immaculate to go to the British Heart Foundation

Hi,
Try calling a charity shop called Embrace SW8 in Queenstown Road, they help a variety of charities ask to speak to Mitzi she will be able to help you.

We gave an old but serviceable duvet to Ace of Clubs for their centre. Maybe give them a ring.

Does anyone know which local charities will take duvets mattresses and pillows. Most won’t but some animal shelters and homeless charities do, I believe. We have at least 5 sets we are going to change.
