I am giving away a SAFETY FIRST gate which we used to block access to the staircase.
 It's in white metal and works by pressure on the walls. It can be used one-handed and has two-way opening.

This stair gate is suitable for openings between 73cm and 80cm but can be extended up to 136cm with separately available extensions (which I don't have).
