This could be Heliocabacter.  MY daughter had this from around the age of 8 and it got progressively worse.  It was diagnosed via a poo test which our very good GP sorted.  It turns out she had had it from birth, probably picked up in the hospital.  Her stomach lining was severely inflamed and she was in a lot of pain when it struck, particularly when doing sport, when all the acids were moving about in her stomach.

We were referred to Dr Chong, as mentioned above, after standard antibiotics failed.  It took an endoscopy, a couple of courses of strong antibiotics and then finally a breath test afterwards to show that it had cleared up.  After diagnosis her diet had to change until her stomach had healed itself but she was back to eating everything soon enough.

Touch wood, it hasn't come back but it was very debilitating when she had it.

my son too had terrible recurring pains post a bad stomach bug. nothing helped, nothing obvious was found. he was absent from school so much and stress just made it worse. what finally worked for him was cbt. gradually, over time, it helped him to take control and the transformation has been astonishing! he’s been pain-free for almost a year now.

My son saw Jenny Epstein at Chelsea Westminster hospital privately and she was wonderful. She was so thorough after we had been blown off by the GP for weeks and it turned out to be a serious issue. I’d highly recommend her and hope that you get your daughter sorted! x

Pediatric gastroenterologists recommendations

Hi

My 6 year old daughter is complaining of stomach pains and I’d like to get her to see a recommended Pediatric gastroenterologist.

I’m keen to find a really good one as we’ve seen various doctors with little luck in diagnosing the issue.

We have private medical care and ideally would see someone in London.

Many thanks for your help in advance
