The Medela breast pumps were recommended to me by some midwives and my NCT leader. They are expensive to buy, but I hired mine which was a much cheaper alternative. Its worth looking into, as its very quick and you can use it at the same time you are feeding your child from the other breast!!! Also hiring means you can try the product out and if its not for you, you can look into some other alternatives.
I have tried the avent hand pump too which also worked. It takes longer, and its a bit more effort having to pump away, but its cheaper.
