Hi
Forgive for jumping on here. I'm a local mum and Nutritionist and Naturopath. I help and support many women through this lifestage.
The Menopause is a natural part of female ageing, however if we arm ourselves with some tools to manage and cope this transitional phase will be so much easier. This is about not suffering in silence. I am passionate about supporting women and I hear this so often …. “I don’t feel like a woman anymore”

I help women gain a deeper understanding about how to get support to help you to cope with managing this transitional period, as well as preparing yourself naturally for the menopause through diet, exercise and lifestyle changes.
So, if you would like any help or a phone call to see how I can help you - please do get in touch .

You can find me on Instagram - alexnutritionforlife

Best wishes,

Another recommendation for trying a homeopathic approach. (I am not someone who typically subscribes to this, but it did wonders for me!)

Sarah Davison specialises in the menopause and is a lovely person to talk to.

Hello,

In addition to all of the above it sounds like you need to find a Menopause specialist Dr who can have a another look at getting your hormone levels more in balance so that you can bounce back to your former self. I have heard similar stories time and time again and often women think they´re just going mad and GPs are prescribing them anti-depressants.

In addition to finding an appropriate medical professional (you may have to insist to be taken seriously) I can 100% recommend the following incredible resources to help you navigate through it.

1) www.postcardsfrommidlife.com is the best podcast that will have you in stitches whilst also providing essential tips and empathy from the 2 hosts and their distinguished guests. You will recognise yourself and your situation in many of their episodes and it will really provide relief and perspective.

2) https://megsmenopause.com/ Meg Mathews is a Menopause Awareness Campaigner and her website is a mine of information on symptoms and how to get the help you really need.

You will crack this - please  don´t suffer in silence or settle for anything other than getting back to the real you. There is appropriate help out there. Good luck.

Hello,
have you considered trying the ayurvedic approach. Holistic methods target more symptoms than conventional medicine, plus it is all down to nature.
Another idea which arises is starflower Oil. It may be worth getting an opinion about it, apparently it is very helpful with balancing hormones during menopause.

Hi,

I listen to a lot of podcasts related to Heath and fitness, I have come across two names Shahzadi Harper and Louise Newton , both renown for specialising in women’s health and menopause. You can google them, I believe they have private practices

Hope you feel better soon !

I highly recommend Claire Zarb, if you would consider homeopathy.  Although she's now based in Somerset, she does Skype consultations and then posts the remedies to you.  She has helped with hormonal imbalances I have had in the past and might be worth a try?

There is now a special accrediattion for doctors and nurses giving menopuase advice.
You can search for a local person by contacting the British Menopause society, theis site has a lot of user advice.
On the NHS there are specialists in all of the loacl teaching hospital Tommies, Guys, Chelesea and westminster, st georges.
The problem post covid is that waiting times have increased via gynae services.
I suggest starting with BMS to find an accredired specialist. Private medical care is a situation where you would get continuity of care and a quicker service. Virtual consultations are possible  both in the NHS and privately.
There are also GP with the menopause accrediation. Recognition of specialist menopause services is increasing with a bit of homework you will be able to find the support you need.

Hi, my yoga teacher speaks very highly of Gabriella Espinoza, a nutritionist who specialises in menopausal issues. +44 7796 616413

I am also tempted to start the BODY FX (figure 8) craze that keeps on popping up as an ad on social media; it’s a workout routine created by a former ballroom/salsa champion which looks like great fun and has glowing testimonials. I think they have a 30day free trial promotion at the moment. 💃

Good luck!

I feel your pain!
My low moods have been so awful.
Did you find anything to help you? I’d be interested to know if you did.
I exercise, no alcohol, eat healthily but still I can’t shift this and it’s so tiring.
Hope you are ok

blush wrote: Mon Sep 07, 2020 11:25 amI've found that eating earlier, not drinking caffeine and cutting down hugely on alcohol have all helped me feel much better.
In addition, exercise has been a big help. Even just getting out and walking each day is a help. It really isn't a fun time.
Good luck !

Totally agree, giving up caffeine and alcohol helped my sister immensely.
