If you can, without too much trauma, go straight onto the toilet and omit the potty bit. Saves having to teach a new trick later down the line and having to empty a potty out...

My Son had the baby bjorn one with the high back and it was fantastic! It comes with a removable bit and it's really comfy and high so they aren't crouched down.

I also agonised over this choice, then ended up in Asda on nappy run one day and bought their super cheap £2.99 one which couldn't have been better. I had one from John Lewis before, but for my little boy, he didn't quite fit in it, if you know what I mean.
Now a month into training, and no accidents any more, the concern now is how to stop my two year old fetching his potty, placing it in the middle of the living room and performing in front of all. Graduation to toilet seems to be a piece of potty training that we've omitted!!

Obviously if your son is ready, the potty training will work... But of course you know that

Just to say. What worked for my eldest was for her to choose her own potty. So I had to research before hand and the one I liked were the babybjorn ones where the potty part can be removed for throwing the wee or poo in the WC and washed easily and then put back into the main thing (well hope I am clear enough for you to visualise).
Then I brought her into a shop where they sell them and I let her choose the colour, etc. (She chose the blue one and still loves it... she is 2,5).
I also bought the travel one but she doesnt like it.
And also some toilet seats for toddlers to put on the WC. That works wonders...

Good luck. It is hard but such a milestone for them. Wonderful afterwards!

My son is almost turning two and I'm thinking of starting potty training. I was wondering which potty you have and if you would recommend it (or not). I bought an Ikea one a couple of months ago, but that just seems to small for my boy!! I'm looking for a potty that won't stick to his bump and that is easy to clean...
