I love the new Jimmy Spices in wimbledon :)
I am also going to try Cosmos in croydon this weekend, they are both a mixture of foods, all you can eat for good price and the food is delicious :)
Enjoy xx

Check out Brixton Village - a 1930s arcade has been transformed and is now home to lots of small restaurants - Thai, Italian, a gelataria, a Japanese pancake place, etc - it's amazing. We had a delicious meat at Honest Burgers last week , the whole arcade was full of people having a great time. It's open late on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It's an extraordinary place!

For places a bit further,
Hawksmoor in seven dials Covent garden. Best steak ever.

Fir a healthy and sophisticated food, Galoupet in Beauchamp Place. It's very fresh food, and great wine. Got great reviews in the standard.

Try the Canton Arms, just past Stockwell tube (88 bus from Clapham) - it's amazing!

I too get bored of Clapham/Balham/South West London generally but can recommend this place:

http://www.upstairslondon.com/web/index.html

Not huge choice but great food and they do some great Hungarian wines at times. Sounds weird but there are some fab ones.

Also, if you want further afield there are 2 great restaurants in South Croydon:

http://www.albertstable.co.uk/#

http://www.lecassoulet.co.uk/

They are both in really rubbish places but the food is fab. I particularly like Alberts Table (it gets great reviews from Jay Rayner too).

The added bonus is that it is 15 mins by train from Clapham Junction so all of you can drink!

The Earl Spencer in Southfields is great but can get busy at weekends - we usually go during the week - http://theearlspencer.co.uk/
Last night we went to Artisan & Vine for a wine tasting with a food platter - it was fun and very interesting http://www.artisanandvine.com/
They specialise in Natural Wines which you can read all about here http://www.artisanandvine.com/wine/natural-wine/
They also carry English wines - I had several glasses and no headache today so I realise the headaches are caused by all the additives which don't have to be listed on wine bottles. I'm buying natural wines from now on! :D

Thanks so much for these. Loving the gastro/bistro pubs in Chelsea so definitely going to choose one of these. Just checking out the menus now!

and The Thomas Cubitt on Elizabeth Street, SW1W again downstairs, no need to go in the restaurant on 1st floor.

The Phoenix, Smith Street, SW3.

The Ebury, Pimlico Road, SW1W.

The Pigs Ear, Old Church Street, SW3 - in the downstairs pub, no need to go upstairs to the restaurant.

La Poule au Pot and Cheyne Walk Brasserie for more of a treat!

Fox Trot Oscar, Royal Hospital Road, SW3

All old haunts of mine - only 10 / 15 mins from here but avoid Battersea Bridge going north, use Chelsea Bridge.

Went to Entree on battersea rise recently and loved it. Apparently they have live piano music at the weekend too. You'll definitely need to.book.

Have a lovely meal wherever you end up going!

There is a new place on Abbeville road called the Abbeville kitchen .. Looks smart but I haven't tried the food or service yet. I think it's got steak / bistro type food ..
