Our 3 year old goes to Belleville nursery - he and a few others are picked up at 12 noon by the lovely staff at Butterfly where they spend their afternoons. Butterfly provide lunch (from the Deli cafe next door). Then when Butterly finishes at 3.30pm, the staff take him (and some others) to Belleville afterschool club. As full time working parents, this is the only way we can make this work (and a lot more cost effective than a nanny).

However the waiting list for after school club is long so if you’re looking for next year then get the child’s name down NOW. You can always cancel later on if you don’t need the place after all.

Hope this helps. Son is very happy and LOVES both nurseries and has a great time at after school club too. The staff are wonderful.

Butterfly nursery will pick up your child from Belleville nursery and take them back there (if your child is in the Belleville nursery then they can apply for a place at the Balham Community Centre run breakfast and afterschool club run at Belleville). If you get a place, you would essentially have childcare from 730am to 6pm( I can't remember the current end time) although there is a bit of toing and froing for your child.

There are nearby private nurseries offering pickup from Belleville - Butterfly School and maybe Noah's Ark? These are term time only. And I think hours are also similar to school (end at 3.30 pm, etc) but some do offer wraparound care as well to extend the day and holiday camps.

We have been offered a morning place at Belleville. This is 3 hours a day and we are wondering if there is a way to extend these hours? Are there clubs or can they stay for lunch?

We would love to send him there but just three hours a day is going to be very tough to manage.
