From January 2025 we have an unexpected vacancy due to family moving home, Monday to Thursday, 7:30-5:30, during Wandsworth Term time.
We are a husband and wife team of Ofsted Registered Childminders based on Sutherland Grove, Southfields, SW18. We are called Home Grown Little Acorn as we want to give the children in our care the same care they would receive at home. Also from little acorns mighty oaks grow, which is our motto and we take our role in helping to shape these future acorn trees seriously. We work according to Wandsworth Council's term time dates, Monday to Wednesday, this means we don't work during the school holidays. We only have availability for these 3 days a week and do not offer half days or adhoc care.
My husband (Ryan) and I have two lovely children, aged 15 years and 17 years old. After having our son I decided to register as a Childminder as I saw so many of my friends facing the challenge of finding someone who will not only care for their children but love them and care for them with enthusiasm and excitement. This was the best thing I could ever have done as I absolutely love minding! Ryan joined me in 2017 as he's seen the impact I've made on the children and the children have always loved having him around in the past. This has been an exciting new venture and we haven't looked back.
We have a garden which the kids just love with some play equipment: water tray/sand tray, trampoline, playhouse, slide climbing frame, ride on toys, balls and outdoor toys like trolley, buckets and spades. Weather permitting the kids spend a lot of their time in the garden when we are home. We also have two pet cats, Yuki and Yoshi, which the children all love and they are brilliant with the children! The one even jumps with the children on the trampoline.
We do plenty of fun activities, including: painting and crafts, baking, dancing and singing, creative play, water, sand, play dough and other messy play and trips to the local parks. We also attend great local playgroups all year and visit the local Animal farm and Chessington to see the animals and have a go on the Carousel when we can. We both have a full clean driving licence and use the car for transport to these.
We love the different personalities and challenges each child brings and finding new and exciting ways of helping them to learn and develop into well balanced, confident and caring children.
At Home Grown we believe children need to be children and must have the opportunity to explore their surroundings in a safe environment and we encourage the children to experience the different objects and textures around them.
We provide quality, engaging, fun childminding in a safe, warm and loving environment. If you would like more details or to arrange a visit then we would love to hear from you. We pride ourselves on being an exceptional childminding team and knowing that the children we mind love coming to us every day. All the parents we have minded for are happy to give references.
