Hi,
I am the original poster but can’t remember my password for that username!
That baby I posted about back then is now ten years old! Time flies! Zoe Penn was good, although not as great as I’d hoped, but has since retired. I have since had another baby, and this time I had Charlotte Deans at The Kensington Wing at C&W and she was INCREDIBLE. The best and nicest dr I have ever met. Honestly, I can’t recommend her enough. She managed the pregnancy which was quite high risk with the utmost care, skill and kindness. The birth was as special as it could have been in difficult circumstances- she made sure I had a great experience. Her PA, Hina, is also incredibly efficient and wonderful too. She books up fast, so do get in touch, and good luck!

Hi stayathomemuminsw11!

Obviously it's been a while since you wrote here but I'd love to know how things went with Zoe? I am currently looking into obstetricians and would love to know your feedback!

Thank you,
Lisa

Just wanted to update this in case anyone else was thinking of booking with Zoe at The Kensington Wing.

I am now 11 wks pregnant, and booked in with Zoe at 4 weeks (yes really-she books up FAST!!) had my first appointment with herthis week.

She is AMAZING. So kind, so patient, answered ALL my questions, and gave me her mobile number and said to call 'any time'.

Completely different from the experience I had with my first baby (also consultant led at C&W Kensington Wing...) I really came away reassured and happy.

Obviously I've only met her once, but first impressions were definitely very good.

Hi everyone.

Thanks SO much for that, very useful.

My mind is made up, I will book in with Zoe Penn when the time comes, sounds like I'll need to book pretty much as soon as I get pregnant though!

Thanks again.

I had my two children privately at C&W as well. Mark Johnson was my OB and he was AMAZING. I trust him implicitly and would recommend him to anyone. However, he was off the night I delivered my second, and Zoe Penn delivered my son. Although I didn't know her well, (only had her that one night), I found her to be very supportive and helpful. I was quite happy with my experience so I think you'll be in good hands. I *believe* she delivered Cherie Blair's youngest... I figure that's a decent sign of competency! :D

hi emsken
i also had my first baby privately at C&W - my gynaecologist highly recommended Zoe Penn but unfortunately she was fully booked!! I've heard really good things about her though.
I had a man as my obs and was not very happy with him, like you i wouldn't choose to go with him again..
good luck!!
x

ps remember if you need a c section your health insurer may pay for the hospital stay!

Good luck!

Has anyone used Zoe Penn as their obstetrician?

Hi,

We are about to start trying for baby #2, and will, as per last time, be going privately at Chelsea and Westminster.

I have to be obstetrician led, as I was last time, (and also ended up with an emergency C-section) but I don't feel particularly happy going back to the obstetrician I had last time, (no problems as such, but I just don't feel right about it).

Anyway, I wondered if anyone had had Zoe Penn as their obstetrician for pregnancy and birth and what were your experiences?

I would prefer a female obstetrician, (just a personal preference) and the choices at C&W are fairly limited...

Thanks for any feedback!
