Dear family!

My name is Sandra, I’m from Sweden and I’m 25 years old. I’m living in Sweden, Örebro at the moment and my occupation is psychiatry. I'm a happy and positive person.

I’ve been working as an au-pair two times. When I was 20 years old when I went to Rome to work for a Swedish / Italian family during ten months. I was looking after a two year old girl. It was a lovely work. I love that girl and too see her grow up and to be a part of her life during ten months was so amazing. I still have contact with this family.

In June this year I came home from London where I have been working like an au-pair for a Danish / English family. I was looking after two lovely kids, a seven year old boy and a nine year old girl. I also cooked every day for the whole family. The family I was working with in London was an amazing experience. I love these children as well.

These three children I have been looking after in different time will always have a special place in my heart. Even if it was really hard to leave these two families when I was finished I will forever be grateful that they gave me the possibility to give me the job.

I miss London a lot and that’s the reason why I have decided to move back. Since I love working with children I’ll be looking for a nanny job.

I have a lot of experience working with people. I can easily adapt to new environments and I am a very independent person. When I was 18 years old I went on my own to live in Ferrara, Italy, to work as a volunteer with elderly people. My daily tasks included being social support for the elderly, to talk and listen to them and making their days as good as possible! I was a volunteer for six months. Even if it was a lovely experience it was also hard. I didn't know the language really well in the beginning and it was a new country for me. I had to learn to adapt to new situations and accept the culture which is completely different than ours. But I did it without complaining. I’m a hard worker and I have always put my whole heart in every work I have done.

My whole life I have enjoyed practicing all kind of different sports. I have played floorball (a famous in door sport in Sweden) for many years and also other sports, for example football. Since I love working with children I started a floor ball team for girls that’s seven years old. I was the only trainer for them and I really loved it. I enjoy working and helping the children develop.

At college, I studied a sport program which meant that we could practice sport during school hours. We also among others things studied sport theory. Through school I organized a floorball school with my school mate for girls between the ages of ten to twelve years old.

Today, I have a degree as a therapy assistant with focus on psychiatry. I did my practice at a psychiatric clinic where they cure psychosis (schizophrenia) and after that they gave me a job part time. I have worked there for three years now and I liked that job a lot. I have seen how much different I can do just to be there for the patient and listen to them.

During three years’ time, I have also worked part time with autistic children and adolescents. That is also a job that I really enjoy and I’ve learned a lot from that. We are working with a method that is called VISA (visually individually structured shift). We work with pictures to communicate with them.

I have also done some other work and I would be happy to send you my CV if you are interested.

I love to work with children because you get so much back to be with them. They give so much love and energy. To work like an au-pair like I have done is like a dream job for me.

Finally let me just say that I am a person you can trust. I am a person who stands by my word. I will do the things you tell me to do without complaining. I am reliable and very hardworking. If you give me the chance to work for you I’ll be really grateful, you’d get a person that you can trust. If you have any questions to me, please don’t hesitate to ask!

I have certification and reference from all my work and I would be happy to give it to you!

Looking forward to hear from you!
Sandra Österberg
