My trap baited with peanut butter & chocolate brownie isn't working, we don't yet have a dead mouse & I don't think the ultrasonic thingy is keeping our rodent away as I found two droppings, one on the kitchen table & another on my DS's playmat - yuck.

We've filled all the holes with wire wool & made sure that there are no food sources.

move :o

seriously
I never had mice until I lived in Wandsworth

(Im not counting the one occasion when my husband went on holiday and left food all over the kitchen counter caught 8 of the little pests when he returned)

Im not counting it because I had gone away with the kids leaving him to finish off at work so it was ALL his fault

That is my worst nightmare, how awful.

We live in a vitorian garden flat which has had a mouse problem in the past when my hubby rented it out. We got the council round to advise us and we went round the house stuffing wire wool in any holes we could find, including under the kitchen units by taking the kick boards off. We were told there was no sign of anything and the traps they laid were not touched.

A few months on, just the other night we were woken up by our cat sniffing really loudly by one of the wardrobes. It could only have been a mouse... We took the bottom drawer out of the wardrobe and lo and behold a little mouse... The cat was on to it straight away. It ran across the room, both me and my husband jumping around, and found its way behind the other wardrobe!! After moving this wardrobe out the cat was able to get behind there and deal with it for us :D

We had no idea how it got in. We had some things from storage back earlier that week and thought it had come from there. I was getting ready the following morning and discovered a hole (tiny) in our ceiling rose. It must have fallen through there onto our sleeping cat who was directly underneath, as he sleeps on the blanket box at the end of the bed!!

Thinking back I did see the cat looking at the ceiling in the living room and could hear the scratching he was hearing. They must be living between the floor/ceiling. We got a pack of those sonic plug in things and put one in the bedroom, living room and cupboard under the stairs. No sratching or crazy cat since!

IF ANYONE DOES DECIDE TO GET A CAT, PLEASE GO TO BATTERSEA DOGS AND CATS HOME. THEY ARE WONDERFUL AND WILL MATCH YOU WITH THE PERFECT CAT FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. THEY WILL BE NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, HEALTH CHECKED (SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LETTING YOURSELF IN FOR), HAVE A MONTHS INSURANCE AND WILL BE FLEAED & WORMED. WE GOT OUR CAT FROM THERE AND HE SETTLED IN A TREAT.

PLEASE DO NOT GET FROM ANYWHERE ELSE, THERE ARE TOO MANY CATS THAT NEED HOMES WHO HAVE SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE. HIGHLY RECCOMEND :D :D

get a little nipper trap and fix a small amount of chocolate to it. Look to see where your mouse/mice are visiting the most and pop the trap near their run but hidden in a dark place. leave and see what happens...after first mouse reset the trap as you are bound to have more than one.

Rentokil certainly advertise effectively. It is the name everyone comes up with although there are many much cheaper firms out there. The council will come out for nothing as it is what your council tax pays for!

I saw a mouse again last night despite blocking hole, no food & ultrasonic bleeper. No droppings or food?

It came out through a teeny gap in one of the skirting boards under the corner kitchen unit which is now blocked with wire wool.

Just when I thought they had gone away :(

Had a mouse problem but bought baits, traps, sonic repellent and that seemed to be the trick, no sight of a mouse and no droppings, or nibbles in my bananas (yes, these mice ate bananas and potatoes  ) for a good 6 months. however, the other day I saw a mouse! I am curious though as I have seen no traces of it, no droppings, etc. my question, is how is it surviving, and what is it eating? I suppose I will have to call a professional as there are some gaps that I myself am not able to fill.

Environ Pest Control Ltd are trying to make it over before I have to get my daughter from school. Fingers crossed the vermin doesn't get super strength and push his way out before then!

Problem is no one is available right now and still have mouse trapped in box! Husband not home until later. Child home before husband. Ahhhh!
Do the sonic things really work as we're in a Victorian and I imagine there are more holes than not.
