Bellmore opticians on Northcote Road are fantastic with children as they explain everything to them when carrying out their eye test, and they have a very caring manner when dealing with children wearing glasses for the first time.

The may be slightly more expensive than the chain opticians, but I feel the service they give is worth paying a bit extra for.

I am not 100% sure if they take children (i must find out as i need to take my 4yrs old), but after various opticians, my husband now goes to Specsaver on St John Rd (next to waitrose) to get his eyes checked.

They are thorough, explain well and can refer you back to NHS. It is £20 redeemable if you purchase the glasses from them (my husband didnt as didnt really like the style).

Worth calling to ask if they take kid in my opinion!

Although my son is a teenager now, we've been going to Bellmore Optician on the Northcote Road since we found out that he needed glasses at about the age of 8. Always had a good experience there.
