I'm in Clapham, 23 and speak a little bit of German, but fluent English and Dutch, ha!
If she drops me an email, -through this account-, I could get in touch and take her for a drink in Clapham or something?
I know what it's like to move to a big city knowing nobody, so wouldn't mind at all :)

Hi All

Me again. We have just had a wonderful new German au pair start with us owing to the former Mary Poppins heading off to the Netherlands to study :( . It has been a tough 8 weeks.

Her replacement is fluent in English and a really lovely outgoing 20 year old. She has been working in the UK for a year already but her friends are spread all around the country.

Does anyone have a German speaking Nanny/Au pair in the SW11 area who she could meet up with socially in the evenings/weekends? In fact, any fun bubbly girls with some grasp of English would do !

Please do get in touch. Thanks Sam for already contacting me.

Get her to look up the German YMCA in London - somewhere near Bayswater. They run regular events for young German people in London and have lots of au-pair contacts. Also their LoCo London Connection.

hiya,

not sure about the german speaking part, but there is a website called meet ups and they organise social meetings for people who want more friends, there is a south west london group, who do different events around the area- http://www.meetup.com/south-west-social/

hope this helps!

Hi All

We have recent had a lovely, charming, 20 yo German girl start with us. Her English is pretty good, however she doesn't know anyone in central London and is keen to find some friendly, cultured people to do things with when she isn't studying.

If you have or know of any other german speakers in the SW11 area (who won't lead her astray !!) that are in the same or similar boat please get back to me.

Feel free to email me at gus @ gusambler . co . uk or call on 07973 62 44 90.

Thanks in advance.

Gus
