Thanks so much for the ideas, we have decided on bedruthan steps (my confidence in summer arriving in the UK is proving misplaced so far!) but I'm pocketing the other ideas for a September trip!

I have a 17th century farmhouse in Tuscany and we often have families with children of the same sort of ages as yours. We are fully booked until 31 August 2013 but we are offering deals from that time. Please email me for more details if you are interested. Diana (casa_barliano@livec.o.uk).

Hi

Have you thought about Polurrian Bay Hotel or Fowey Hall? They have lots of activities for the children and a free creche. I know they are getting pretty booked up but I can check availability.

In Europe Vila Vita Parc in Portugal and Martinhal are perfect. Again let me know if you want me to check availability. Have a look at www.luxuryandlittleones.com to see more information on these places. Please do send an email if you want some help or ring.

How about Sheraton Pine Cliffs in Portugal? They have a wonderful pirate ship playground (and kids club & creche too).
Have a look here...http://totstoo.com/hotel_sheraton-pine-cliffs
Another short hop away is Jumeirah Port Soller in Mallorca, where they offer lots of practical help for travelling with little ones (baby purees, bottle sterilisers, etc), see here... http://totstoo.com/hotel_jumeirah-port-soller

My father in laws villa is available the first 2 weeks in July in portugal - flight With flytap to lisbon and a 50min drive to the villa. We've been taking our children plus nieces and nephews since they were babies. It's based on a golf course and there is a great pool with knee high paddling area for toddlers, a playground, tennis courts, good beach a5 min drive, children's club during the summer and children friendly menu at the golf clubhouse. Have a look at the link http://www.holiday-rental-portugal.com/ ... principes/. The villa is a20 casa castelo. Email for more details as he is offering a discount for booking directly.

I've been trying to find, albeit a little late, a great holiday location for this summer.

Can anyone suggest anywhere that includes entertainment for kids of 4,2 (plus baby), I don't necessarily want a kids club but like the idea of playgrounds, swimming pools etc

Not necessarily in the UK but certainly less than 3hours flight.

Hoped to book bedruthan steps but left it far too late.

Someone mentioned the 'sands resorts' in Newquay.. Has anyone been?

So, in short, suggestions for a family of active outdoorsy kids most welcomed!!
