A bit shocked by this. Had friends with children at Eveline and they all had really good experiences.

I would avoid at all costs. It was a few years ago now but we sent our son to the Ritherdon Road site and it was awful. The manager at the time was OK and so were some of the staff but the Deputy Manager who was in charge at least once a week was dishonest. When are son couldn’t sleep at lunchtime nap (which was very early) he was removed from his group room and heartbreakingly was regularly put in the manager’s office and left to cry. He is now in year 7 and can still remember this. He also learned what the naughty step was while there. In itself maybe not a problem but when questioned about this the staff denied it. We didn’t trust them so removed our son.

We were in touch with the owner about this and she immediately sided with the staff (without conducting any investigation) and we were left in no doubt that the children were an inconvenience.

In order to give a balanced review I should mention that a friend there at the same time was happy. I imagine the staff will have changed but the owner hasn’t and as the experience of other negative reviews suggest the culture and ethos is unchanged.

There are lots of other great choices in the area.

I agree. Awful nursery.
The way they treat staff and they only care about profits, not your children.
Parents! There are loads of great nurseries out there.

When it comes to sending children there, kids are priority but noone cares about staff and teachers are treated like slaves. noone stays there for longer, unless they are friends of tue manger and have their support to do whatever they want, which means, to do nothing. Formally, noone appracietes teacher's hard work, low salary and high expectations, old fashioned approach to how a worker should be treated.

If you look for a good workplace, avoid that company.

My daughter was at the quicks road branch. We moved her as it became apparent that the children were not getting taken out for fresh air regularly, (no garden but park next door) and we had issues around staff telling us what we wanted to hear rather than the truth. I raised this with the principal and it became apparent that she was not aware of what was going on at the nursery s. I.e dinner was being served earlier than 3 pm and children were not being taken outside. We are much happier with our new nursery. If u want more details I am happy to tell you. We felt we could not trust the staff.

Ditto Ali79. Staff go above and beyond. Couldn't be happier. Would not have returned to work if I'd had to send my daughter to any of the other Balham nurseries. If you search Eveline on NVN you should be able to find other feedback, maybe specific to that branch.

My 2 yo daughter has been at the Trinity Crescent branch for a year. She loves it and we think the staff are fantastic. And because they're a family run outfit, they are really flexible on offering extra hours/days if you need them. Highly recommended. Added benefit of the day school your offspring could go on to should you be considering private school and need the hours cover without using a nanny.

Our DS has been there for a year & loves it.

I turned down a place at kids unlimited on Wandsworth Common northside. Many of our friends have little ones there & are v.happy.

The Eveline group is v.well regarded.

I've had no actual experience from Eveline but I did go for a show round, I was dressed in a hoody and a north face gilet at the time, and the deputy manager literally asked me "are you sure you can afford this?" Now personally I don't think that is something for them to be concerned about and selling a place should be.

I am considering sending my son to Eveline nursery on Geraldine Road. Does anyone have any recent experience they could share with me? It would be much appreciated.
