I've had a birthday cake for my mum from Lesley at Holly's cupcakes - it was delicious. I've also had a cake for a 'bake off' (at my brother in law's wedding) made by Dee at Delight Bakery also totally yummy .

AND Laura Amos at Desert Deli is making a whole bunch of delicious things for WIN A NAPPY VALLEY XMAS - I've tried many a cake from her barrow on Northcote Rd - she is a fab baker too.

Try Etoile Bakery (based in Battersea) Holly makes absolutely fantastic cakes; she made a cartoon character birthday cake for my daughter's second birthday party in the summer which not only looked amazing, but tasted out of this world. It was the highlight of the party! http://etoilebakery.co.uk/

Nightingale Patisserie on Nightingale lane is your solution. The make the most delicious cakes ever and need only a short notice. really not expensive

I had a birthday cake for my husband and a stunning christening cake for my son made at Dee Light bakery on Ritherdon road, both with about 4 days notice. It is expensive, but I was very happy with the result.
