[font]Hi all,[/font][font]This may or may not be connected but while I was walking on the south side of Tooting Common I was sworn at (including racially) by a man - who may well be the same person - and who lives in a top floor flat on Elmbourne Rd (I'm not sharing the house & flat number publicly in case other people live there) but it is close to Tooting Bec Rd along which the 319 bus runs.  I did not see his face clearly, only his ethnicity (matches the picture posted by oclapham.)   It was unprovoked and I said nothing in response but took a photo with my camera: I've reported it to police and showed them the evidence in person today - they are logging a report as the abuse had a racial element to it.  It may be connected or just a coincidence.  Did anyone else suffer the same treatment when walking around Tooting Common?  It was around 15.10 on Thursday 6th Feb (a sunny afternoon with a fair few people walking around). I was shaken so just kept walking in case he was a violent individual.  Thanks.[/font]

Sounds horrible. I had a similar situation with a woman in Tooting Broadway calling me an f#####g b####h just for walking past her with a pram on the pavement... I was very surprised and shocked she did this when I had a newborn baby with me and scared incase she turned violent. It was horrible.

Tourette syndrome can result in outbursts of unexpected language, but it does not make people aggressive. It sounds more like this man has mental health or substance abuse issues.

Avoid, report, but do not engage with him. Get off the bus if need be.

I’m not an expert but it sounds like he may have Tourette’s. I heard a couple of children with the syndrome being interviewed on the radio a year or so ago and it was very bizarre. One of them (a young boy) who otherwise sounded completely rational called the interviewer a f****** c***. So while not trying to minimise the fear you felt, it may be he’s more intimidating than dangerous.

Same thing happened to me too - I was travelling on the G1 bus at 0930 on a Saturday morning with my 4 year old daughter. He got on on Bolingbroke Grove and used a string of revolting language directed at my and the disabled man sitting behind me who challenged him. Very scary, particularly on a petty empty bus and with my little girl. He must be known to the police if this keeps happening...

I experienced the same abuse from this extremely intimidating individual on the 319 between Bellevue road and Trinity road to Tooting Bec at the start of January 2020. Be vigilant and inform bus drivers if posible ir get off the bus .

Rather shaken by an aggressive man who randomly stated swearing at me and calling me a b**** on the 319. He was pretty scary and tried to snatch my phone when I took a photo of him and rang the police. Apparently also called a man on the bus a c***.
Keep your eyes peeled and let kids know to stay away. I can imagine I would have been really upset if I had been a young person.
