Hello!

If you’re willing to drive to Northampton, my husband’s cousin has just bred a litter of Cavapoochons. Not sure if they’re all taken as she usually has a waitlist before breeding, and there are only 4 pups in this litter, but let me know if you’re interested and I can check.

You’d need to be willing to wait a couple of months, though, as they were only born at the start of Feb.

To:  Mrsmac35:   Please see my reply to Tigger.  Opinions on this forum are sought & it’s my opinion, & that of others, that more people seeking dogs should re-home them from shelters, & not from breeders.  As for the hackneyed suggestion ‘… if you can’t say anything nice etc etc’ …. if that advice had been heeded, we’d still be living in the Middle Ages.

To Tigger:  If my comments have made just one person thinking of buying a fancy dog feel guilty, then it’s a jolly good thing. There are too many people wanting expensive breed dogs – usually as a status symbol - when there are any number of non-bred dogs in animal shelters just wanting a loving home.  I’ll say it again:  think about it.

@Mrsmac35 - "There are too many posters on this forum who feel it is their right to judge" "Well said Tigger. I completely agree with you".  Uhmmm .............. something seems not to compute.

Well said Tigger. I completely agree with you.   There are too many posters on this forum who feel it is their right to judge and be quite rude in their responses.
Currently at Battersea Dogs Home there is NOT ONE dog suitable for living with young children.  So perhaps if AbiGG has young children rehoming through Battersea is not an option at the moment.
We also looked at rehoming a dog at Battersea and we had a similar problem in that no dogs were suitable for a house with young children, this is quite common with rehoming centres.   When the history of a dog is unknown the rehoming centres are very reluctant to rehome with young children.
Dimelda….Please can when you think about the feelings of other people when you post unnecessary and hurtful comments.  As my late grandmother used to say.. if you can’t say anything nice, then please don’t say anything at all!

Sorry to say this dimelda but your comment comes across as really condecending, particularly the 'think about it' bit at the end.  Different people want different pets for different reasons - size, sex, type of coat etc.  Everyone knows that Battersea Dogs Home exists, so I'm sure if they had one the original poster would have called them, but for you to send AbiGG on some guilt trip about what sort of puppy she wants is pretty uncalled for.

Why on earth would you want a 'Havenese' or Cavapoo bred dog when there are so many dogs in Battersea Dogs Home (& elsewhere) looking for good homes?  Particularly now, in the cost of living crisis, when large numbers of dogs have been handed in to animal shelters because the owners are no longer able to care for them.  Think about it.
