Hi
We've got a standard 4 bed house BTC and we're getting damp on the chimney breast in the top back bedroom. It's high up on the chimney breast near the ceiling.
Over the years we've had tons of people come out to look at it and attempt to fix it claiming it was flashing on the roof or chimney stack but it's never had much effect. It's not a lot of damp but it is there. One neighbour has the same issue and reckons it's just internal moisture condescating on the stack as it's cold.
We've ended up with some bean bags that absorb moisture in the room and that's helped but there is a roofer working on next door's house and he reckons its the chimney stack.
Anyone had anything like this and did you fix it?
TIA
