As part of the Fringe, Work and Play Scrapstore will be holding open days, helping with the Storytelling Festival on Tooting Common and running some fabulous crafty workshops.
6th May - Workshop - Paper Art - 11am-1pm*
Meet Freyja our demonstration leader and learn simple paper folding techniques to make beautiful butterflies, fans and rosettes. Don't bin those wrapping paper and wallpaper scraps - make them into art! - Embellish with recycled bling..
9th May - Storytelling Festival on Tooting Common
Add a wish to our wishing tree at Sprout Arts before the event, join in the parade to Tooting common or join us for human rangoli or 'dress a rat' on the common.
13th and 16th May - Workshop - Rangoli Birds - 11am-1pm*
St Martin's graduate Jayson will demonstrate the fundamentals of Rangoli (ancient Indian art form).Design your own Rangoli inspired Peacock using old bottle tops, fabric scraps, wire/twine/string and straws. Create a quirky piece to treasure from the most unlikely of materials!
