How do you risk assess the online world for your kids?

Postby LoveSW11 » Mon May 24, 2021 7:49 am

Do your kids have access to the internet?

When it comes to setting healthy boundaries for your kids’ screen and online access, are you winging it?

Do you know what they are watching on YouTube, TicTok, Netflix?

How long is too long on a screen?

Have you discussed with your kids about cyber bullying and the sexually explicit stuff that they could get exposed to on WhatsApp, Snapchat and the likes?

And pornography. Have you told your kids what it is or have you skipped it because you don’t know how to talk about it?

Have you prepared your kids about ALL the things that they could come across on the internet?

Do you know that when they play games like Minecraft, Fortnite, Among Us and Roblox they can chat to strangers?

Ever noticed your kids’ behaviour change after they game? Do you know why this is?

Do you know what cyber trauma is OR the benefits of gaming?

If ANY of the questions above are making you feel uncomfortable, anxious, concerned or out of your depth, YOU’RE not alone!

The majority of parents across the world are winging it because

They don’t know how to properly risk assess the online world for their kids

They don’t know the new games, technology and apps of their kids’ generation

They don’t know how to discuss uncomfortable topics like pornography, paedophilia, bullying, sexualisation of young people, and all the things that the online world can expose everyone to indiscriminately, in age appropriate ways.

You don’t have to wing it anymore!
