Log Steps- Playground nr Skylark - Dangerous?

Postby mealsonwheels » Fri Apr 24, 2015 2:54 pm

My daughter had a nasty fall the other day, backwards down the log steps that
go over the small fence that divide the playground nr the Skylark cafe. Luckily she was fine, but she did a full somersault down them and it was really distressing to watch.

Looking at the steps, I think they are really dangerous and impossible to supervise a toddler going over them. If the toddler manages to get over them, then you have to peg it around to the gate to chase them into the next playground!

Just wondering whether anyone else thinks this? Or are they a popular bit of
the playground?!?

Many thanks.

Personally never had an issue but obviously it depends on the age and co-ordination of the child.

I know what you mean - I ended up climbing up and over them today with my toddler as couldn't work out how else to keep her safe. I'm not a huge fan. But then I guess lots of bits of playground equipment are like that and you basically have to climb on them with your child until they are old enough to be less supervised
