I really hope that Buona Sera isn't being replaced by the Ivy - the place is fantastic for good quality affordable family lunches - the only place of it's kind/cuisine on Northcote road. :(

Annabel (admin) wrote:Hi,
We've heard on the grapevine that Trinity Restaurant, fresh from winning it's first Michelin Star, is to open a new restaurant on Bellevue Road in Wandsworth.

It'll be taking over the Rotisserie Chicken spot which is only a few doors up from Chez Bruce.

Back to the original subject :D ....

I notice that Rotisserie Chicken has now closed and it's windows whitewashed and staring blankly across Bellevue Road (a shame as I felt the staff were very friendly and it offered good value for money as a take-away - although it was a bit sparse as a restaurant).

Any news or gossip as to what it's replacement will be? Any truth in the original rumour that Trinity will move in ?

Anyone know what's going into the unit where The Holy Drinker was? Passed it today and noticed it has a brand new frontage

Does anyone have an update on restaurant opening on Bellevue because it looks like a Pizzaria. Also any further updates on whether Ivy Cafe is coming to Northcote rd ? The restaurants are fairly basic it would be nice to get an upgrade.

Yes it's definitely an independent Pizza outlet. I spoke to the "Rotisserie" owner some months ago because I wondered if he was simply changing from chicken to pizza, but apparently not, he's selling up and moving on.

Shame as the food was delicious (the mash and gravy were divine) and reminded me of those chicken takeaways you get in the South of France :)

Also I heard that now Rosita has closed (great shame) it's going to be replaced by an Italian. So we have that, the new Pizza place on Bellevue, Franco Manca, Buona Sera, Numero Uno, Made in Italy. Enough already!

Oh no! What a shame about Rosita. I really liked that place.

I'll be very sorry if Rosita has gone, especially if it's replaced with another Italian! You can add Osteria Antica Bologna, Valentina and Donna Margherita to the list of existing Italians within a few hundred metres. Plus Pizza Express at a push.

Oh yes, thanks! Being a vegetarian I always end up having to have either pasta or pizza (or risotto if I'm lucky) in Italians. It gets very dull after a while.

Me too Dudette, especially since Italian is the main kind of food I cook at home. I think we are already well catered for in the Italian food area - franco manca is the best in my opinion despite the original guy having sold out to a hedge fund.

Interesting - we only went to Franco Manca once and didn't like it so haven't gone back. I thought Made in Italy was quite good, if you like pizzas. But really we loved Rosita - such a shame.

Yep, I'm veggie too! I do love Italian food, but make it all the time at home, so usually want something different when I go out. Plus I enjoyed tasting all the sherries at Rosita.

Franco Manca, along with The Real Greek and a couple of one off restaurants, is owned by The Fulham Shore which is a listed plc. If you want you can go and buy shares in it yourself. Giuseppe Mascoli, the founder of Franco Manca, currently owns 5% of the shares.

Hedge funds don't invest in restaurant chains. That's private equity.
