help - need reco acupuncture for pregnancy

Postby evanpo24 » Tue Jun 06, 2017 10:05 pm

Hi, we have been trying for a baby for the past 5 years and have had 4 unsuccessful IVF treatments with the last 3 having very early miscarriage. I also have very irregular cycles so probably PCOS and been told I had high immunity and NK cells. We are now looking for alternative treatment so acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Do you have any recommendations of clinics / doctors? thanks a lot emilie

Have you seen Dr Hassan Shehata at the Miscarriage Clinic? I would highly recommend seeing him if you haven't already done so http://www.miscarriageclinic.co.uk/

The best guy to see for Chinese Herbs is Tim Davies. The success that he has had is amazing. He is a bit of a hike away but after you have seen him you can do Skype for herbs. He also does acupuncture but I found someone local for that to save the journeys.

Tim Davis

Acupuncture locally - Camilla http://www.acuworks.co.uk/camilla-festing/ who works on Northcote Road and just off Trinity Road.

Best of luck with it all.

Info collated from myself, and a couple of very good friends - we all had differing issues:
Trevor Wing near Petersham: www.naturalgynae.com (does herbs)
Acupuncture: Emma Cannon (as suggested above) http://www.emmacannon.co.uk
Acupuncture and Herbs: Susie Astbury https://www.susieastbury.com/ - I used her a couple of times when other acupuncturist was away, recommended by Emma Cannon.
Zita West - I did acupuncture with Eva but I'm sure all are great
Foresight Fertility that uses hair analysis to make sure that you have the right optimal nutritional balance to get the optimum fertility levels

Acupuncture: Justine Hankin who practices out of Fulham Medical Centre – 07973 655527

https://www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/ may have useful resources.
Friend also said Marie Wren, at The Lister was fantastic with ideas, incase that's helpful.

Hope all goes well.

We are based on Queenstown Road in Battersea / Clapham and our Acupuncturist, Nick Johnson specialises in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbalism to aid fertility, conception and pregnancy. Over the last 20+ years he has successfully helped a lot of people.

You can read all about it http://www.fairleewell.co.uk/acupunctur ... ng-centre/

We'd also recommend that if you give us a call on 02077207933 and leave us your number, we can ask Nick to give you a call (free and no obligation, of course) to discuss everything.

Whichever way you decide to go, we wish you all the best.

Have you thought about going to see the Zita West or ARGC ivf clinics?

Both specialise in NK cell issues and immunity issues, and will be able to let you know when it would be most useful to use acupuncture within a cycle, and also look holistically at your overall health and immunity.

Good luck

Hi, for fertility acupuncture I highly recommend Camilla Fletcher (www.acuworks.co.uk)

And for fertility hypnosis I recommend myself! I work alongside women who are trying for a baby unaided and also with IVF/other interventions.

Feel free to call if you'd like to know more,

Gemma

Zoe Lake at Neal's Yard, Northcote Road, or Camilla Fletcher or Carol Anna Pletz also at NY.
If Northcote Road doesn't work then Hannah Pearn is based in Streatham/Balham and my clients are full of praise for her.

I had a patch of unexplained secondary infertility 6 years ago and fell pregnant with twins a few months after starting to see Zoe. She is absolutely wonderful and I trust her with my clients absolutely. She can get very booked up though.

I completely agree with Gemma (above) about getting to see either a hypnotherapist or counsellor at this stage. The body and mind are intrinsically linked and there have been studies which have shown higher success rates of IVF with women who have used hypnosis both before and after their treatments.
All of this is available at Neal's Yard Therapy Rooms on Northcote Road.

All best. x

I had ivf treatment with dr Gorgy on wimpole street with treatment for immune issues. He's very thorough and always see him so great continuity of care.
I had acupuncture with Kate Freemantle. She is a herbalist too, but tbh I just couldn't drink the stuff. I was happy injecting myself everyday but drink the herbs was too difficult, but I do think it's mind over matter with these things.
Good luck, I know it is heartbreaking. Xxx
