Horrible scam emails

Postby Beancounter » Mon Oct 15, 2018 10:40 am

I received one of these threatening emails showing that they had my name, my email and a password which I used many years ago and now I only use if I have to open an account to buy something. But someone had somehow managed to find these details. I showed it to a police person friend as I felt they needed to know for statistics. They are apparently very common and people do pay. Anyway, what it did do was make me check my online security which I thought I’d done a month ago but was probably a year. Advice is to cover the camera on your phone etc as one of the threats is about videos and our devices plainly listen to us - I had a wigmaking chat in person with a friend and what pops up in Facebook? A wigmaking course.... brrrr. Hate feeling spied on.
