Affordable Art Fair returns to Battersea for spring

Postby Community Editor » Tue Jan 24, 2023 12:31 pm

Emerging and established contemporary artists will be selling work at the Affordable Art Fair at Battersea Park in London this spring.

Affordable Art Fair is home to over 100 exhibitions all under one roof, with art from across the UK and around the world, of all styles and genres - from original painting and sculpture to printmaking and photography. The fair is for everyone -whether you’re an art afficionado or looking to buy your first piece, freshen up your home or find a meaningful gift.

With the fair’s preview coinciding with International Women’s Day (March 8), visitors can also expect a landmark display celebrating some of the inspiring women and female identifying artists from the Affordable Art Fair community.

Fair director and art expert, Hugo Barclay, said: "Against a winter of rising prices and economic uncertainty, we’ve certainly seen art buyers looking for pieces that bring hope, inspiration and calm. Art is a vital creative outlet for everyone - whether you have the artist gene or not - and having work in our homes that soothes or makes us smile is becoming increasingly valuable.

"People are seeking out artworks that show us there can be light even in darker, wintery British days. Think Marie Kondo’s famous motto - ‘Does it spark joy?’.

“What’s great about our fairs is that you can truly see the best in contemporary affordable art of all styles and mediums - from printmaking and photography to sculpture, ceramic, collage and mixed media. But, a continued favourite amongst our art buyers are original paintings - and you can find some truly fantastic work for under £1,000 at Battersea Spring.”

The art fair is due to take place between March 9 and 12, artworks will be priced from £50 to £7,500. Tickets have just landed on Affordable Art Fair’s website.
