autumn break

Postby bel35 » Mon Aug 01, 2011 7:41 pm

Hello, i'd like to treat my husband to a night away before my 2nd arrives and i was hoping for some hotel ideas. We'll be going (without the first) around october time so somewhere either beside the beach or forest walks for that fresh outdoor feeling, with a great bar (for him :( ) and restaurant to settle in for the evening. Not too far from london as we'll only be away one night.

Any recommendations are very welcome. Many thanks

When I was pregnant my other half took me for a great weekend away staying at the George in Rye. It has beach, lovely atmosphere, fabulous rooms and a great restaurant. I highly recommend it.

Thanks Karin. A friend also recommended The Grove. It looks amazing!

Babington House, The Grove and Lime Wood (New Forest) are all amazing but pricey. If you can do a Sunday night a lot of the Hotel du Vins do rooms for £10 when you spend £75 in the bistro.

Just thought of another one. The people who own Lime Wood have just opened another place called the Pig in Brockenhurst. It looks amazing, is cheaper than Lime Wood and is still in the heart of the New Forest

Not sure which smiley best conveys a 'jaw drop' (maybe :o ?) but limewood looks utterly divine thanks. I don't want to wish summer away but i'm so looking forward to cosy autumn.
