Tigne - Hotel Diva ....anyone been?

Postby calliwally » Mon Mar 02, 2015 1:43 pm

Hi, we are planning a ski trip next Feb half term, but we are a large group (of 6, maybe more families) and are looking into ski options. The group is too large (or small apparently) for a catered chalet, but we have found enough accommodation at Hotel Diva in Tigne with kids club, ski lessons etc. Has anyone been before and could give is any idea if it was good or not....
thanks

Chalets come in all sizes up to small chalet hotels like those with Ski Olympic for example. It depends what you want.

Hotel Diva I think is run by Crystal Ski so is going to be quite "mass market" in its running / catering etc.

Look at Ski Olympic for smaller chalethotels, but you would need to look for ski lessons etc seperatly
Esprit Ski for the whole package including kids club etc
Mark Warner, again, whole package
Ski Beat - would be split over a few small chalets but might work
VIP Ski - again, some childcare but not kids club, but 2 big chalethotels in les Gets and St Anton.

Have you called somebody like Ski Soloutions who cover the whole market and should be able to advise properly? As an ex Ski Specialist travel agent I seriously can't believe the Diva is the only one that will work for half term next year!!!

Thanks Rodent. We haven't tried Ski solutions, but have called round most of the ski companies (Mark Warner, Esprit etc) I'll give them a call. Apart from budget restraints, the main issue is finding somewhere with childcare still available for that many people. So much has been booked up already. Unless we took a 40 person chalet, but that would take some organising!!

Also, most people in the group have skied Le Plagne a few times and want to try somewhere else. If endless budgets were available then there would't be such an issue. Skiing in the holidays is at such a premium compared to other times.

We haven't done a hotel ski holiday before, only catered chalets so were just wondering what to expect. If the childcare wasn't up to scratch and the rooms were terrible we wouldn't book!

Thanks

Hmm, its tricky like you say - childcare is so tricky at half term, unless you looked at a different property and a nanny agency like T4 nannies or the like.....??
