Just returned from the most family friendly holiday in a gite in the beautiful Brittany countryside, just a few minutes from the sandy beaches of the Breton Crozon Peninsula and wanted to recommend it here.
Le Rhun is a family owned farm with 5 gites; we stayed in Les Chataigniers which was really comfortable for our family of 5 but there are smaller and bigger gites available. The gite itself had everything we needed - cot, booster seat, bathroom step, kids' loo seat, washing machine/dryer/dishwasher, plastic cups/plates/cutlery and a vast toy box - but the grounds are what makes this place so amazing. There is a very well protected swimming pool, sand pit, older kids' playground complete with wooden pirate ship, younger kids' playground and a huge sheltered play area under the barn. There are numerous other little play areas to explore and discover (the fairy glade was a huge hit with my girls!) and the whole experience made for a very easy holiday! Can't recommend this enough and hope other people get to have as lovely a holiday as we did.
