I am delighted to announce that the Northcote Road Christmas lights will be switched on by the Mayor of Wandsworth at 5pm on Friday 26th November in Abyssinia Close.
As usual, there will be various activities on Friday evening, and again on Saturday 27th November, please see below…
Thursday 25th November
A large Christmas tree will be erected on Abyssinia Close, as the focal point for the weeks up to Christmas.
Friday 26th November
From 4pm the choirs from Belleville School, Dolphin School and Bolingbroke Academy will sing Christmas carols along Northcote Road, congregating at Abyssinia Close at around 16.45.
At 5pm the Mayor of Wandsworth will formally switch on the Christmas lights in Abyssinia Close. The carol singers will sing a few more carols after the switch-on, and Northcote Records will have a full band performing Christmas songs thereafter.
For the rest of the evening various shops will be offering mulled wine, Hamptons will host their usual Christmas Grotto, and Rampton Baseley will be feeding Santa’s reindeer. Glow Dental and Killik will be doing mulled wine, mince pies and balloons for children.
Saturday 27th November
The road will remain open, and there will be no visiting stalls due to COVID, however there will be a number of shops offering discounts and special offers throughout the weekend (see below).
The characters of ‘Paw Patrol’ will be making meet and greet appearances at 10am, 11am, midday, 2pm and 3pm in Abyssinia Close.
Shop (and bar) staff will be wearing Christmas jumpers, with prizes for the top three outfits.

Baby Mori will be running a kindness pledge promotion for an extra 20% off sale.
Wallace Cotton will be running a store wide discount of 20% off. Their store will be Christmas decorated and all our Christmas products will have a prominent display in the centre of our store.
Newbie will be offering sweets for all customers, and will also be giving away free reusable canvas bags for all shopping customers during Friday and Saturday!
Huttons will keep the shop open until 7pm on Friday, and on the Saturday 27th, and if anyone wears a Christmas jumper they'll received 10% off their purchase.
Oddonos will offer Hot Chocolate on Saturday when activities are taking place!
Helen's Boutique have a 50% sale on everything, they will offer Port Wine and Portuguese warm natas with cinnamon, and for children they will have a kids tombola of little toys for free.
