Can anyone recommend a structural engineer they’ve used for a residential building/refurbishment project?

Used a company called Home Tales for our extension - their engineers put together our building regulations pack with calculations for the builder and building control officer. Found them very helpful and great to work with!

It depends on the scale of what you are doing.

For larger domestic works Croft SE are the best ATM. Certainly if it involves Party Wall awards.

For smaller stuff, say a loft conversion, a one man band is probably the most cost effective.

If you can give approximate scope of works I can give you a more precise steer.
