For dads?

Postby MTC » Mon Feb 09, 2015 8:30 am

Hello - writing on behalf of my husband here. Are there any groups / meetings in the area for dads? We have a 7 month old boy, so a bit early for soccer yet :) thanks!

It depends whether he's at home in the week or just weekends. My church (Holy Trinity Clapham, on the common near the paddling pool) have a dads group two Saturday mornings a term, Dynamite Dads. The next one is 7th March and it includes a cooked breakfast! holytrinityclapham.org/parents/ If he's around in the week there's www.dadsandlittluns.co.uk in wimbledon on a Monday and Friday morning. A friend of mine went to this regularly when his were small and really enjoyed it. (I think they probably indulge in the odd bacon sarnie too, sensing a theme?!).

The playgroup in Wimbledon Park is a church hall on arthur road. It is purely for dads and it is called dad and little 'uns and it runs on Monday and Friday mornings every week including holidays. Www.http://dadsandlittluns.co.uk

It's a very very friendly group of guys. My husband went there for four years with our son and they both loved it. Definitely give Josh a ring.

Does anyone know if there is anything closer to Balham for Dads as like initial poster (assume this is the case) my husband will be with the baby during the week from 7months on. Thanks

The Agnes Riley One O'Clock Club (Poynders Road/Atkins Road) used to have some Dads Stay and Play sessions on some Saturdays. Unfortunately the assumption is that dads only bond with their children on Saturdays!
